Your assistant is set up together with the FrontAssist team during onboarding, and from then on you stay firmly in control. Here's what you manage yourself, and where the team helps.
What you control
A few simple controls put you in charge at all times:
- Turn the AI on or off for a business. On the Businesses page, open a business with Manage and switch its assistant on or off whenever you like.
- Pause or resume the AI for a single conversation. Reply to a customer yourself and the assistant steps back automatically; switch it back on when you’re ready. See Coexistence & Human-in-the-loop.
- Watch everything. Every message—from customers, the AI, or you—is visible in Conversations, so you always know what your assistant is saying.
How your assistant knows your business
Your assistant answers using what it’s been taught about your business: your services, prices, hours, location, and the questions customers ask most. This is set up during onboarding, with help from the FrontAssist team, so the answers are accurate from day one.
If your details change—new prices, new services, different hours—let us know and we’ll keep the assistant up to date. Accurate information is what keeps its answers trustworthy.
Adding capabilities
Beyond answering questions, your assistant can do more depending on your plan—for example:
- Share a live demo of FrontAssist with a prospective customer.
- Take bookings so customers can reserve a time in the chat.
- Collect payments and send quotes on WhatsApp (Professional plan).
- Send dashboard login links so you can reach your account from WhatsApp.
When you connect a business, the FrontAssist team reaches out to help switch on the capabilities and integrations that fit how you work—so you don’t have to configure anything technical yourself.
Getting the best results
- Keep your details accurate. The assistant is only as good as what it knows—tell us when things change.
- Review real conversations. Reading how the assistant handles real questions in Conversations is the fastest way to spot anything worth refining.
- Trust the safety net. If the assistant isn’t sure, it’s designed to say so and point the customer to you rather than guess—and you can always step in yourself.
